1st Birthday are such an amazing milestone with so many changes in just one short year!
From those first few days of counting fingers and toes with your sweet little newborn to that first baby smile! You know the one, when you know it's truly pure joy at seeing your face first thing in the morning or from blowing kisses on a tummy. Then before you know it someone is sitting on their own, then onto crawling and possibly walking. Blink and you have transitioned from a newborn to a toddler in an instant. Their 1st birthday is a celebration for the entire family :)

I love it when my littlest clients are on the baby plan! I love seeing them come back throughout the year and watching those sweet personalities start popping out! One day you will look back at this first year and wonder how it all flew by so quickly!
This sweet little girl has been in my studio before for her newborn session and I will be photographing her parents wedding in 2016. Her momma came up with this beautiful rainbow theme and I have to say it's become one of my favourites. She was super smiley and so very sweet and adorable BUT she totally didn't want to touch her cake. We even hid a few cheerios on the backside and she would pluck them out of the icing and clean them off before eating them.
This sweet little boy celebrated his first birthday with a cake smash session and he rocked it!! He has been coming to the studio since his newborn session and it's been so much fun watching him grow this year. He is always smiling and such a happy little man and so easy and fun to work with. As you can see the Cake Smash sessions are will named, though this little guy really smashed his.
I love cake smash sessions! I usually start off with a small mini portrait session with the same or a similar background for the cake smash. And then we smash the cake!! Though sometimes the cake never gets smashed!
I may have already mentioned that some little ones really don't enjoy the feeling of frosting. This little one didn't mind the feeling but really didn't like the sweet taste. We started off with a fun pre-cake session first.I love cake smash sessions and this one was really fun and super messy!!! This little doll really loved her cake and had a fun time destroying it. I always start the session off with some fun before cake photos while they are still nice and clean. Then we brought out the cake and the fun started. I have had little ones not like the feeling of the icing on their hands but it didn't stop her.
Who doesn't love a good cake smash! These are so much fun and sometimes very, very messy, though you would be surprised at how many little ones dislike cake.
Lucky for us this little one had no trouble diving in and having some fun. If you are interested in booking a cake smash session for your little one send a message through the contact page to book today. This sweet little girl just turned 6 months!!!
I have photographed this family in the past when they were just a family of 3 and was thrilled when mom called to book a session for the newest addition to the family. After discussing colours with Mom I created a set up with some soft pinks and gray with a little bling thrown in for good measure. I am totally in love with this little man! I first met him for his newborn session and fell in love with him and his family. His Mom's are amazing with him and it shows! He is the happiest little boy I think I have ever met, I have yet to hear him cry or fuss EVER!
