As a wedding photographer you give up quite a bit of family time in the warmer summer months and it can be challenging sometimes BUT when you get to work with amazing families that treat you like long lost friends it's totally worth it.! Jenna and Mitch reached out to me about a year and a half before their wedding day to discuss my wedding packages and to see some samples of my work and they were so excited to be planning their wedding that I was excited for them! We meet for an engagement session on a very cold windy day but we had a blast getting to know each other a bit more.
Finally! It was wedding day and what a day it was! Everyone and I mean everyone on both sides of their family were amazing and you could tell they were all so happy to be there to help them celebrate their marriage! Check out this incredible wedding day!
I love outdoor backyard weddings! They are always so much fun and as a professional wedding photographer a nice change from the usual indoor venues. The day had a threat of rain but it held off and we ended up with some beautiful wedding photos without getting wet. The bride and groom valued family and friends so we took a more journalistic view and documented as much of the day as possible while we were there. Along with some beautiful decor from the amazing Natasha of Natasha's wedding and Events they also introduced quite a bit of family history into the day as well and it was beautiful.

Outdoor weddings are beautiful and this one was no exception. The day was perfect with slight overcast skies and warm weather, though the best part was all of the smiles on their family and friends faces. The day started out in a friends home and it's always one of my favourite parts of the day! Everyone is always smiling and laughing and something always goes missing for a few minutes before being found, dresses and shoes are everywhere and it's perfect!
Before the wedding ceremony we headed to a beautiful location for a 1st Look between the bride and groom. In case this is something new to you, it's a moment for the bride and groom to connect before the ceremony. A moment for them to see each other and to spend a few minutes with each other before the ceremony starts! It can be a great way to calm those nerves and relax before you walk down the isle.
The wedding reception was held at Meehan's Cove so we took advantage of that beautiful view!
This summer wedding season had a bit of a shaky start! The ceremony location of Darlings Island was under water the month prior to their wedding day and for awhile it was looking like a new location might be necessary. But thankfully it all worked out and their wedding day was beautiful! Plus I got to photograph it in one of my favourite locations. The day was filled with love and laughter and reminded me of why I love my job as a photographer so much.
